Thank you, everyone (anyone?), for actually checking back to see if I’ve written anything, since I haven’t posted anything new on this blog for over a month. It has just been crazy around here, with all my kids home and someone coming over almost every day to go through the house. Actually, I don’t think we’ve had anyone come through the house for most of July, but we were out of town on vacation for a week up at Bear Lake. Apparently, July is crazy for most people, with school out and vacations and everything, and it seems like the real estate business is kind of on hold.
Which actually works out fairly well for us, since we have decided to go ahead and make some pricey upgrades to our home in the hopes of closing a deal. We’ve had a lot of people come through the house, but as Andrew puts it, we just couldn’t get to a second date, much less a marriage proposal. So, we just put on a new roof last week and will be getting new carpet installed in the next few days. Finally! I’ve been wanting new carpet since we moved in eight years ago, but of course, we could never justify spending so much money. Ironic that we’re willing to buy it for some one else to use…
In other news, James has just started crawling this week. For a while there, he would just push himself up on his hands and toes, like this:
Kind of looks like I told him to drop and give me twenty, right? He could push himself backwards all the way across the room. But now, (thanks to the endeavors of Uncle Chris up at Bear Lake, I’m sure!) he is actually full-on crawling. Although he’s still not really good at it. He kind of goes hand-hand, knee-knee, plop on belly, wriggle a little, get up on knees, hand-hand, knee, pull other leg behind for a little bit, plop on face, wriggle-squirm. So he gets places, but it’s not very graceful. He is also inexplicably attracted to cords. If there is a cord anywhere within his sight, he will make a beeline for it, be it attached to a computer, phone, lamp, or vaccuum. So I guess we have to get into the whole babyproofing habit again. Constant vigilance, and all that. Sometime it really amazes me that children survive into adulthood at all.
Anyway, for the sake of all you Lamberts out there, here are my favorite pictures from Bear Lake.

Cute pictures! “Sometime it really amazes me that children survive into adulthood at all.” I agree! I swear, Max evades death on a daily basis.

Constant vigilance – just like in Harry Potter (qoute from Mad-eye moody)…we always use that around our house!

Great pictures, especially of the one where my brother Matt is sticking out his gut and I’m sucking mine in…
